As we move out of the lockdowns that COVID-19 brought, more and more people are desperate to get back to the outdoor activities they haven’t been able to do for the past year. And with summer coinciding with most Americans fully vaccinated status, there seems to be a never-ending amount of fun summer outdoor activities to engage in, such as watersports, kayaking, and cycling. With the number of exciting activities to get back into, how does a person choose where to start? The answer will depend on your physical capabilities, preferred sporting activities, and of course, your location.
If you find yourself caught in a summer heatwave like most cities in the USA, an indoor activity may be the best option to stay safe in the blistering heat.
Indoor rock gyms are a great way to get physical exercise without having to suffer through unbearable heat. Often, these rock gyms have a variety of walls for practicing climbing, so no matter your level of climbing experience, there’s a wall you can enjoy.
If you live in a more temperate climate, especially near a mountain, there are a ton of fun summer activities you can do.
The summer is a great time to break out the mountain mike and go for a ride. If you do not have a mountain bike, there are usually services like Beaver Creek bike rentals at the start of trailheads that will rent you biking equipment for a small fee or deposit.
Alternatively, hiking can be the perfect solution for outdoors people who want to take it slow and fully immerse themselves in the sights, sounds, and smells of the world around them.
